Mustapha B. Mugisa

Mustapha B. Mugisa, known as "Mr. Strategy", is the Chief Executive Officer and Team Leader of Summit Consulting Ltd. He is a strategy, risk and anti-fraud expert who provides value-based consulting to professionals and corporate clients.

An alumnus of EY, he is a board advisor, fintech founder and investor, and the current President of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) Uganda Chapter. He has also served as a visiting strategy lecturer for MBA students at Kisubi Brothers University College, now the University of Kisubi.

His governance work includes serving as Technical Advisor on the Board of Directors of the Uganda Red Cross Society, Secretary to the Council of the Institute of Corporate Governance of Uganda, and member of the Members Services Committee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda. He also contributed to the board of Reach Out Mbuya, a community-based NGO providing HIV/AIDS care to urban poor people.

Mustapha holds an MBA from Makerere University and is a Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Public Accountant, Certified Ethical Hacker, Certified Hacking Forensic Investigator and Certified Information Systems Auditor, among the first Ugandans to earn the CISA from ISACA, USA. At the ACCA final exams he was named best national candidate and received the award in Strategic Business Planning and Development, sponsored by PwC Uganda.

He delivers more than 22 keynotes a year at major conferences and business events, on risk, security, strategy, transformation and innovation, and trains boards and directors on their role in strategy, execution, risk management and compliance. Through Summit Consulting he has served more than 350 organisations, including MTN, Centenary Bank, Uganda Revenue Authority, Stanbic Bank, Uganda Airlines, the Infectious Diseases Research Centre, the Uganda Lung Institute and the Uganda Heart Institute.
